The Center for Positive Marketing introduces our 2013-2014 Executives-in-Residence: A. Salman Amin and John Osborn.

A. Salman Amin


A. Salman Amin was named Chief Operating Officer - North America Markets at S. C. Johnson & Son, Inc. in April of 2013. Salman brings to SC Johnson more than 25 years of general management and global business leadership experience from his roles at PepsiCo and Procter & Gamble.

Most recently, Salman has been Chief Marketing Officer for PepsiCo, leading all facets of marketing for the company’s multiple billion dollar brands. This included insights, sports marketing, digital, media buying, and capability and people planning. Prior to this position, he served as President PepsiCo, United Kingdom & Ireland as well as other leadership roles during his 17 years at PepsiCo including managing Asia Pacific and global business units. He also spent 10 years at Procter & Gamble in brand management, working in the United States, Germany, Saudi Arabia and Switzerland.

Salman holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Syracuse University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. Salman is currently a board member of Elizabeth Arden Company and American Pakistan Foundation.

John Osborn


John Osborn has been President and Chief Executive Officer of BBDO New York since 2004. Over the years, he has demonstrated that he is an energetic, positive and passionate leader with a proven ability to build strong client relationships and to lead big multi-disciplinary teams in the creation of powerful communication programs.

Among John’s notable achievements over the years was his involvement with the “New York Miracle” campaign, which helped lift spirits of New Yorkers in the wake of the September 11 attacks. John has been equally active outside business, lending his talents to other important causes, such as serving on the Board of the New York Chapter of the American Red Cross.

John is passionate about the importance of diversity in the industry. He has served as Chairman of the Board for the Center for Excellence in Advertising at Howard University, and he currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the “unifying voice for advertising.”

In recognition of his accomplishments, John was a recipient of a 2012 AdColor Award celebrating diversity champions in advertising, media, marketing and public relations. He has also been named to the Crain’s New York Business list of “40 under 40” as well as BtoB magazine’s “Who’s Who in BtoB.”
