The Center for Positive Marketing is proud to introduce its Fall 2011 Student Research Fellows: Soraya Eltomey (GBA ’12), Michael Varallo (GBA ’12), Aldo Juraidini (Gabelli ’12), and Alyssa Marino (Gabelli ’12).

Soraya Eltomey is pursuing her MBA in marketing, media management and communications, and entrepreneurship and venture initiation. As a former Management Consultant at Consumer Reports and Team Leader of the Fordham MBA Consulting Team, Soraya will advance the Center’s objectives with her expertise in collecting and analyzing qualitative data.

Michael Varallo is an MBA student with a concentration in marketing. He has gained a passion for digital marketing and plans to use digital media to help advance the Center’s mission by curating the disparate knowledge and conversations online that relate to positive marketing and by establishing direct, effective, and lasting relationships with consumers and marketers alike. Professionally, Michael has worked in marketing at a variety of companies including TheMarkets.com and WebMD; he is currently a marketing specialist at Blue Fountain Media. Ever creative, Michael is also in the process of starting a clothing company, Nantucket WASP (Wash And Seldom Press), launching in early 2012. For the latest on positive marketing from around the web, and to join the conversation, check Mike out on our Twitter @PositiveMktg.

Aldo Juraidini is pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentrating in Marketing and a minor in Visual Arts. With his passion for the arts, marketing, and design, Aldo will contribute to the Center’s visual communications. He has interned at New York City's Lincoln Center as well as the Conversation Agency. In the future, he plans to pursue an M.F.A and further explore the implications of aestheticism in marketing as it relates to perceived value. In the meantime, you can check out an impressive gallery of his design work at www.ajuraidini.com.

Alyssa Marino is pursuing a B.S. in Marketing with a minor in Communication and Media Studies. Alyssa is currently an intern at Hearst Corporation. She has studied marketing internationally in London, and successfully completed marketing internships at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Condé Nast, and Sterling Publishing. She also serves as a consultant on the Gabelli School’s Fair Trade and Microfinance Project. Alyssa, known for her dedication and persistence, will help the Center expand its research agenda. She strongly believes in the power of marketing as a way in which we can create a better world.

Overall, our new Fellows are building on the groundbreaking conceptual work of their predecessors, undertaking exciting new initiatives to develop the understanding and implementation of positive marketing. We are happy to have such an energetic and capable group joining us.
